The Stan Perron Charitable Foundation makes $1m donation to the bushfire disaster appeal

The Stan Perron Charitable Foundation has contributed $1 million to the Australian Red Cross to help the thousands of people impacted by the nation’s unprecedented bushfire catastrophe.

The Foundation’s donation will support the efforts of the Red Cross in helping to meet the immediate needs of devastated families and communities as well as the long-term recovery effort.

In accepting the contribution, the CEO of Red Cross Australia, Judy Slatyer thanked the Foundation saying that in more than a century of responding to natural disasters across the nation, the organisation had never before seen fires of the size and scale experienced over the past few weeks.

“The impact is being felt far and wide - in the tragic loss of lives, homes, livelihoods, wildlife and places that are sacred and special,” she said.

“We are humbled to have seen first-hand what the power of people, communities and businesses, uniting in this time of crisis, can achieve.”
